I had the opportunity to design the ending credits for the 2025 UMass Lowell Senior Studio Show, developing a motion piece that balanced visual depth, pacing, and readability within a high-volume information system. During the storyboard phase, I explored a range of compositional thumbnails focused on creating a sense of dimensionality and movement while maintaining clarity across each sequence.
One of the primary challenges throughout the project was organizing and presenting a large number of names within limited screen space without overwhelming the viewer. Careful attention was given to typography hierarchy, timing, and motion pacing to ensure each section remained readable and on screen long enough to feel intentional, while still maintaining the overall rhythm of the credits sequence.
Strong communication and collaboration with design faculty played a critical role in the project’s success. Through continuous feedback and iterative refinement, the final motion piece delivered a polished and cohesive ending sequence that supported the celebratory tone of the Senior Studio Show while effectively honoring every participating student.
Outcome
The motion design effectively captured the rhythm of the audio, creating a seamless and engaging visual experience. The cohesive ending credits reinforced the show's tone, enhancing immersion and professionalism.
