Process

Understanding the goal

My supervisor and I discussed our goals for this design series: to create something vibrant and distinct, offering a fresh take on career fair posters. We aim to break from tradition and bring new energy and creativity to the table.

Research

My research involved exploring various design styles online, focusing on those with strong visual impact and the ability to stand out. I narrowed my choices to Typographic, Masking, and Illustrative styles. While these categories initially felt broad, I realized that a few powerful visuals can effectively define a project’s style and shape its creative direction.

Presenting the concepts

I pitched my concepts and the full design series, with the Building/Illustration Style poster emerging as the clear favorite. I also received valuable feedback on differentiating the posters, such as using color variations. Throughout, I ensured the event cards complemented the overall design system.

Based on the feedback, I designed each poster as a day-to-night cycle, transitioning from night to sunrise. Earlier dates will have darker tones, while the final poster near March will be the brightest, symbolizing spring’s arrival.
